Find unclaimed money in Alberta

Independent, free guide. Not affiliated with BC Unclaimed or government.

Alberta Tax and Revenue Administration runs a public unclaimed property registry. There's no charge to submit a claim; an administration fee may apply. Listings also appear on MissingMoney.com.

Free to search. You can do it yourself. Official programs don't charge to search, and most charge nothing to claim (a few, like Alberta, may charge an administration fee). You don't need to pay a "finder". GuidePointBC links you to the official sites and doesn't keep your details.

How to claim

  1. Search the registry at alberta.ca/unclaimed-property.
  2. Follow the claim instructions for your item and provide ID.
  3. If a locator offers to claim for you, Alberta caps the locator fee at 10% of the property's value and advises getting the arrangement in writing. You can also claim yourself: there's no charge to submit a claim, though an administration fee may apply.
